I am trying to have a column for item name and another for more detailed description. I had uploaded what I think of as the name into description. Then used the only other descr field for the additional info except that field is apparently non functional.

So I loaded the info into sub cat 2 which i'm hoping i will never need - but this field comes before description.....so now i have details before the item name. This was done on the nicks source but I imagine others wanting more detailed info like ingredients list etc...

How can I get two text fields in the 'right' order for what I am attempting?

Thanks
Kathleen

I do not see any "nicks" source in your account ccm. Did you create it separately and leave it unlinked from your main club account? If so, what's the URL?

You can just put everything in the "description" column, just make sure the item name is at the beginning. In the product search results, if Description data is very long (longer than 150 chars not including HTML markup), it will automatically add a "more >" popup window, and only display the first 150 chars in the main table.

The only minor issue is I believe this "more >" popup does not work once the item is inside a user's Order or Splits. So the description field would be very long in the rest of the system besides the search results. But anyway, the above would be the easiest way.

However, if you really want to do it your way with two separate columns, you can use the "origin" column instead of "sub_category2". I'm pretty sure "origin" shows up after description. But you'll have to enable the origin column in search results- see checkbox on Product database settings. Also, the origin data will not get copied into users' Order or Splits when they order the item. Though if it will contain very long info like ingredients, etc, that is probably how you want it to work.
