Sale items displaying on order page

Hello!
I'm trying to import our database with some items that are on sale. I have entered price, unit_price, and where applicable, sale price.
It seems that the order page is showing a discount percent of 100% on items that don't contain a sale price. Is that right?
Can we get it to show nothing if there is no sale?

Also, I notice that the unit_price field still contains the non-sale price. Should I just upload the price field and let the system calculate unit price? If I do that, will it calculate unit price at the sale price?
