Backup/saving group order before manipulating order

Postby sfrei (deleted) » Thu Mar 13, 2014 11:09 am

My produce administrator likes to juggle orders around. E.g. a 24 ct lettuce case isn't making but combining it with the romaine people changing to lettuce will make. At that point she goes in and adjusts everyone's order. However, there is no way for her to get back to the "original" once she has updated several splits.

We are saving the group order as a pdf file in case she would have to resort back to the original or a member is disputing what she ordered. Is there a better or different way to do this?

How about if the bookkeeper is messing up? I managed to get a double order for 2 members last time, due to an error I made. Namely updating the database during active bookkeeping. It took me quiet a bit of monkeying around to get it solved. Is there any way to restore to before bookkeeping status? Clear invoices still left the reassignments of splits intact.

Do other clubs have some good pointers about bookkeeping online?

You raise some good questions. There is no better way to preserve a backup than taking a screenshot/pdf and/or e-mailing out people's shopping carts for the source (or e-mailing a preliminary invoice) before changes are made. This is a good feature request for the future though.

As for reverting invoice changes, yes, the only thing you can do is clear invoices, but that doesn't revert any changes made to splits. Editing a split changes it permanently, in real-time, with no backup option. Invoices can be reverted, but only the actual prices (if changed from database) and invoice fees.

I am moving this topic to the main Support forum since it raises questions that other clubs might want to comment on (and not be checking the club-specific forum).

Just came across this issue myself... and there is an option in the group order to export to excel. that's likely what we'll do unless something else works better. it seems to give all info we'd need
