Is there a way to import the user list?

Postby shiloh » Wed Sep 05, 2012 11:40 am

We have the member list in a nice csv file and would like to import it.

it contains: username,FirstName, LastName,WorkPhone,EmailAddress .

no password in the file. we could set all passwords and have people change them when they login.

any thoughts are welcome

No, there is no way for you to do this directly yourself. But you could e-mail the csv and we can do it for you: support@foodclub.org

I can send a CSV too, but what about passwords? I don't have access to my user's passwords on our own site, so while I can send you usernames and email addresses, I can't send pwds. How would that work?

If you have encrypted passwords, we may be able to preserve them (if we use the same password hash). Probably not though.

So likely what we'd do is just set all passwords to either the same value, or something from their other user info, e.g. phone number, etc. Then you ask the users change them on their first login.
