"More" to facilitate splits / the split qty range feature

Postby momaro20 (deleted) » Mon Feb 11, 2013 7:32 am

Hello! We're wondering if there is any way currently to allow users to specifiy both how much they want to order in a split as well as any additional amount they would be willing to take in order to close the split.
Here's how "another" buying club does this now:

In "Order Qty" you put in how many you want. In "More" you put in how many extra you would be willing to take to make sure the whole case got ordered. If noone else orders any more of the split (or not enough to fill the split) then your "more" quantity is automatically used to help fill the split. Obviously, if even that number doesn't fill the split, it wouldn't get ordered.
EX. If you only want 3 of something in a case of 6, but would be willing to take 4, then you put in for 3 in the split field, and put 1 in "More". If someone else then orders 2, and noone else orders, then you would automatically get 4 and the split is filled.
Another example: I order "BULK GRAINS,OATS,ROLLED,THICK" as a split. I ask for 30 lbs, but put 20 in "More". If no one else orders any, I am willing to buy all 50 lbs.
Thanks!

Yes, this is available. It is just not visible to brand new accounts. It shows up after you are "experienced" since it is a little more complicated than just a single desired qty value in the split.

If you want it now, just e-mail to request it. That also goes for any other new clubs who want this feature, reading this topic.

Joanna- you have been using just a single split qty all this time?!

Wow, I'm surprised about this because you order so much already, maybe having a min/max will encourage your members to order even more! The min/max feature is also especially good with produce vendors, which you mostly order from.

This fact (that you didn't know about it) really makes me accept the fact that Foodclub needs a better "new feature announcement" system. That will have to go way up the priority list, so it's available within the next few weeks.

I'd like this added too!
Is there any way to change the "more' label to something else? CSS hack?

Alright, both of you two now have it available on all your sources. Enable it on Source settings for each source where you want it.
